By law the darkest legal window tint you can have on a passenger vehicle in VIC is 35% VLT which is measured with the film and factory glass together.

Commercial vehicles are permitted to have the windows from the rear doors back darker than 35% for privacy.

We offer a range of films in this grade ranging from standard to premium non-metallic colour stable films to colour stable infrared protection films and premium ceramic films.

The cost of car window tinting depends largely on the type of tint film that you pick and the car that is being tinted. At EDM AUTO CENTRE, we stock a wide range of tint films; so whether you’re after a budget tint film or premium tint, we’ve got you covered.

The time taken to tint your car would depend of the size of your car. However, as a typical guide, an average sedan takes approximately two hours, whereas an SUV might take about an hour longer. However, if you’re replacing a tint on your car, you might need to consider the time required to remove the old film and prepare the glass surface for the new film. For special requests and more precise information, contact us for more details.

Cleaning your car windows could be done by using a soft lint-free cloth and a mild cleaning agent, approximately 21 days after your windows have been tinted. Do not clean the glass during the drying period – the first 21 days after tinting.

On 95% of vehicles the film will go all the way to the edges and the rear window can be installed in one piece. The exception to this is a few rare vehicles where this procedure is not possible.

You should check with your vehicle manufacturer but very few vehicles have darkened privacy glass that offer heat and UV protection.
In many cases EDM AUTO CENTRE can install a very light / clear film to give you 99% UV protection and increased heat protection.

No, it doesn’t. However please remember that to have the mobile service come to you it is very important that you have the car placed in the following situation.

  • Must be completely indoors.
  • Must be bright lighting.
  • Very important to be completely free of any breeze or wind.
  • Needs to be dust free and clean.
  • Needs to be large enough to fully open the vehicle doors.
  • We need access to power.

Cars fitted with plastic or dyed film will all bubble and blister
eventually. It is not the quality of the instalation it is simply a low end quality product that only lasts a maximum of 3 to 5 years. Prior to todays metalised tints, all films were plastic or dyed.

Yes we do, please note that during the removal of the window film we will follow all necessary procedures to remove the film in the safest way possible however there is a possibility that rear demisters can fail and attach to the film. This is due to weak demisters from factory or the demisters deteriorating due to age and exposure. In the event of the demisters are damaged during removal of the film we will not be held liable for this and is at the owners’ own risk if they wish to have this procedure carried out.
